NCCCO Certified Knuckleboom Operator & CDL Truck Driver Job Summary
We are a leading wholesale distributor of building materials and we need CDL Drivers to grow our business. We are seeking a dependable and efficient NCCCO Certified Knuckleboom Operator for our Pasco, WA branch. As a Driver, you are a vital team member in the distribution of our products. A clean driving record and top-notch customer service skills are a must. This is a very physical position that requires the Driver to help in loading and unloading bundles of shingles and other building materials that weigh from 80 lbs to 100 lbs each, on a continuous basis .
CDL Truck Driver Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Provide quality service to customers using clear communication skills
-Be knowledgeable regarding all Company products and services
-Safely drive and operate all equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal laws at all times
-Load and unload building products at each job site
-Validate and confirm inventory loaded on the truck
-Confirm addresses on delivery tickets and ensure that routing information is obtained prior to leaving the branch.
-Ensure load is properly and safely tied down in accordance with Company policy.
-Return all paperwork to designated branch personnel after every return trip to Branch Office.
-Perform required DOT post-inspections on vehicle and provide copy of post-inspection report to designated manager prior to the end of the work shift.
-Ensure Management is notified of any equipment issues requiring repairs or safety hazards.
-Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
-Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
-Track and report working hours
-Adhere to company rules and regulations
-Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
-Make safety a priority at all times
CDL Truck Driver Requirements, Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
-Must be NCCCO Certified Crane Operator
-Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A or B required – Class A preferable
-Prior experience operating a forklift or Moffett a plus
-Prior work within distribution a plus
-A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must
-Must pass background check and drug test
-Will need to drive manual transmission truck and operate equipment
-Will need to access rooftops for specific deliveries
-Should be comfortable working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
Other Requirements & Skills
-Must be a minimum of 18 years
-Exceptional customer service skills
-Must be a Team member and able to communicate with team members from all departments
-Must be organized, detailed oriented, focused and comfortable working independently
-Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
-High level of composure and good stress management
-Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
-Ability to effectively use electronic communications tools (such as mobile electronic device)
