We currently have a contract position available for a Field Engineer/Field Geologist & Quality Control Technician in Columbia, Virginia. This position offers valuable hands on geotechnical engineering and construction management experience - Ideal for young dedicated undergraduates or graduates.

  • Contract will run from hire date through late June with possible extensions.
  • Some travel is also an option as we have several projects across the United States. First assignment is located in Columbia, VA.
  • This is not an office job. 
  • Your boots will get dirty

Working with site Project Management and the Head Office teams, our Field Engineers/Geologists & QC Techs perform technical record keeping and analysis, quality control, report preparation, project scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, materials management, field layout and estimating. 

The successful applicants will:

  • A degree in Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical) or Geology from a recognized U.S. or Canadian institution or a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized college.
  • Be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and English language communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Possess the ability to work individually and integrate with work performance as part of a team.
  • Be available to work overtime and shift work, as required.
  • Have the ability to safely and freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments – this is a safety sensitive position.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and independent means of transportation to work locations.
  • Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera is an asset but not required.
